If you were told that your ancestor was an assassin for an ancient organization, you would be forgiven for taking some time to process that information. In the newest commercial for Assassin’s Creed, it seems Callum Lynch is quickly coming to terms, and may even be enjoying himself a bit in the process.
The new “It’s Time To Make History” commercial seems to be embracing the time jumping elements of the series, and this is one of the biggest glimpses we’ve had into who Callum Lynch is. Abstergo wants Lynch to access his ancestor’s memories, the infamous Assassin Aguilar, and while he really didn’t have a choice, the newest footage shows that at some point he does seem to get a kick out of experiencing his ancestor’s past adventures.

“Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
“We’re really determined to make an audience believe that this world and these characters exist,” Assassin’s Creed director Justin Kurzel said. “I want it to be an unbelievable ride mixed with these exotic worlds that then lead you into some action sequences that are really dynamic.”
At one point towards the end, we also see Aguilar against a background that looks like Abstergo’s headquarters, but it’s hard to tell if this is just part of the Animus process or if he’s actually been transported. We’ll just have to wait and see.
“Assassin’s Creed stars Academy Awardยฎ nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, La Vie en Rose).
