If you’ve seen filmmaker Kevin Smith out in public in recent years, there’s a very good chance that he’s been wearing a hockey jersey at the time.

He’s got dozens of them, including a number of custom jerseys made to promote his films, his comic shop, his TV shows, and the like.
When ComicBook.com visited with Smith on the set of Supergirl, the filmmaker was wearing a custom-made Reverse-Flash jersey, complete with the name “Smith” and the number 37 both reversed on the back.
So — yeah. Dude likes his jerseys.
Yesterday on Facebook, Smith shared a photo of his latest custom jersey — one presented to him from storyboard artist Jeremy Simser, and featuring a piece of Simser’s art from last week’s episode of The Flash, which Smith directed.

Smith’s is beloved around the “Berlantiverse,” with the crews and cast of both shows enthusiastically praising his work, his attitude, and the way he treated those under him.
“I cannot say enough amazing things about Kevin Smith,” Supergirl star Melissa Benoist said during that same set visit. “I’ve been a fan for ages and so I was really anticipating working with him and so excited about it — and he just exceeded all of my expectations. He’s so supportive and encouraging. We work crazy long hours, and the energy he brings is only positive….I don’t know how he keeps that up.”
Smith’s episode of The Flash aired on Tuesday. His episode of Supergirl is coming up in early 2017.
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT; The Flash on Tuesdays at the same time; Arrow on Wednesdays and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on Thursdays. All four series air on The CW. The “Invasion!” crossover will air beginning November 28.
