While dead men may not tell tales, the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise definitely has some more action left in the tank.

Following the antics of Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to release later this year. The fifth film of the franchise sees the return of classic Pirates character Elizabeth Swan, but also manages to introduce a new major villain to the franchise.
Veteran actor Javier Bardem has been tapped to play the infamous Captain Salazar, an undead rival to Sparrow and his crew. While the teaser trailer gave fans a glimpse of the face and movements of the villain, the first full image of Bardem’s character has now been released.
In a new series of 2017 film previews, USA Today has included some interesting photos from a few of the movies. In addition to a new Jutice League image, the paper shared a new look at Jack’s new nemesis.
Salazar bears a resemblance to the pirates of the second film, Dead Man’s Chest. That project followed the events of Davy Jones, a captain whose ship scours the depths of the sea. Since none of those soldiers could ever die, they were meshed with barnacle, seaweed, and plenty of dripping water.
Salazar comprises a few of these traits, but his ghost-like movements would make fans believe he has a new origin all together. The sweeping of his lower-torso indicates he is much more in touch with the spirit world than the former characters.
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazer (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea โ notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifull small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has never faced.
Johnny Depp returns to his iconic, Academy Award-nominated role of Captain Jack Sparrow, one of the most beloved characters in motion picture history, newly joined by Oscar-winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Skyfall), rising young stars Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner, British television’s Skins) and Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent, The Giver) and Golshifteh Farahani (The Patience Stone, Exodus: Gods and Kings). Rejoining the action are Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum.
