You would think that stars of AMC‘s The Walking Dead take home some of the largest salaries on television given their involvement with the largest show on cable. As it turns out, some of the show’s biggest stars don’t rake in the amount of cash per episode as some of TV‘s other popular actors.

A new report from Page Six claims that Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln, the leading men on the AMC series, take home significantly less than stars of The Big Bang Theory, for example. Reedus is said to have been taking home about $124,000 per episode while Lincoln was nabbing $92,000 for each episode.
With each episode taking an average of eight days to shoot, that’s certainly a lot of cash for such work — especially when they’re entirely sitting out certain episodes in some instances — but by comparison, the paycheck paled against stars of The Big Bang Theory and Gilmore Girls. The cast of Big Bang took home about $22 million each in a single season and Alexis Bladel and Lauren Graham are hauling in over $2.5 million per episode.
Thanks to a recent re-negotiation, the leading cast members will be taking homer a bigger sum with each episode going forward. The report claims that Reedus re-negotiated his contract for about $550,000 per episode and Lincoln will be receiving $618,000 per episode. This is said to have gone into effect for season seven and eight of the AMC series.
Chandler Riggs‘ seven year contract with The Walking Dead was fulfilled following production of the seventh season in late 2016. One has to wonder if Carl Grimes will survive the finale or AMC will cough up more cash in his direction to bring the actor and character back for the eighth.

The Walking Dead returns for the rest of its seventh season on February 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
