There are plenty of iconic anime theme songs, but few tracks have become as popular as the original Attack on Titan opening. Released in 2013, the anthemic "March to Freedom" track has become an engrained element of Attack on Titan lore. The single features heavy metal overtones with booming percussion and bass elements. And, of course, the track's popularity was only bolstered by the fact that Linked Horizon was behind the song.
Naturally, fans have been wondering whether or not Linked Horizon's theme song would be used again for Attack on Titan's second season. The opening is a hard one to beat, and fans have been asking for months now if Linked Horizon would still be involved with the franchise. Now, fans have an answer to that burning question, and it will make plenty of fans happy.
Earlier today, the official Attack on Titan website released the second season's official release date - and the announcement came with a theme song stunner. Studio Wit confirmed that a brand-new opening would accompany season two and Linked Horizon will be the boys behind the much-anticipated track.
Attack on Titan is not the only anime series to get attention from Linked Horizon. Sailor Moon Crystal had its theme song composed by Linked Horizon.
You can check out the synopsis below:
"Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity's freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!"
If you are not familiar with Attack on Titan, then you should know the popular anime is renowned for its intense action and gritty storylines. The anime follows a boy named Eren Yeager in an alternate world overrun by massive creatures known as Titans. When their sanctum is infiltrated by a slew of Titans, Eren and his friends Armin and Mikasa join the military to help eradicate the blood-thirty monsters. But, as they grow older, they learn that the beasts are not what they appear as long-held government conspiracies make themselves known.
