In case you forgot that Marvel’s The Punisher was still set to debut on Netflix in 2017, one of the show’s actors would like to remind you.
Jason R. Moore, who plays Curtis Hoyle in Marvel’s The Punisher, tweeted out a poster for the series. The poster features the Marvel and Netflix logos, the 2017 date, and the Punisher’s classic skull icon.

Curtis Hoyle is a friend of Frank Castle and one of the few people who still know that Castle’s alive. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Hoyle and Castle were soldiers in Vietnam together. Hoyle later became part of the Rockhouse Operation, a drug ring run by General Buktir Van Tranh. Castle and Hoyle crossed paths again when the Punisher infiltrated the Rockhouse Operation.
Jon Bernthal debuted as the Punisher in the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix. Bernthal’s character proved popular enough to become the first character to spinoff from one of Marvel’s Netflix shows into his own Netflix series.

As the Punisher, Frank Castle uses any means necessary to dish out lethal justice to criminals in New York City.
Marvel’s The Punisher is being developed by Steve Lightfoot for Netflix. Lightfoot will serve as showrunner.
Bernthal will star alongside Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson.
Production on the first season of The Punisher commenced in October 2016 and concluded in April 2017. The series is expected to debut on Netflix in 2017, at some point after The Defenders releases in August.
The Punisher is based on the Marvel Comics character created by Gerry Conway, John Romita Sr., and Ross Andru, who debuted in Amazing Spider-Man #129 in 1974. Originally intended as a cautionary Spider-Man villain, the Punisher’s relentless, hardline vigilante tactics resonated with certain fans and turned him into a cult favorite. He has since starred in several ongoing series from Marvel Comics and three previous live-action movies: one starring Dolph Lundgren in 1989, another starring Thomas Jane in 2004, and Punisher: War Zone starring Ray Stevenson in 2004
IF a Marvel fan did forget that Marvel’s The Punisher was coming in 2017, it’s likely because they’re so focused on Marvel’s The Defenders, the even miniseries featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist that’s coming to Netflix in August.
