The series will be airing on the Warner Bros. Digital Network streaming service alongside a live-action adaptation of Titans, instead of its prior home at Cartoon Network โ but it will continue with the same voice cast that made the original series a fan favorite.
Actor Nolan North, who voiced the characters Superboy and Superman, revealed they’ve already recorded the first five episodes of the new season while speaking during a panel at Awesome Con in Washington DC last week.
โจNolan was speaking about his co-star, the Walking Dead’s Khary Payton who plays teammate Aqualad on the series, when he broke the news.

It’s almost too crazy to even think about a new season of Young Justice this long after the original series went off the year. But with the actors themselves confirming they’re actually recording dialogue, it’s hard not to get hopes up. Sure, they still have to actually animate the series which takes a lot more time than it does to record. And yet progress is progress!

While the first two seasons aired in back-to-back years from 2011 to 2013, Young Justice used a 5-year time jump between the seasons to put the characters in drastically different situations. Don’t be surprised if the third season does something similar, considering it will have actually been five years since the last time it aired when it premieres.
Young Justice ended with a cliffhanger in which The Light, the Illuminati-esque version of the Secret Society of Supervillains, hijacked Mongul’s advanced weapon system known as Warworld and delivered it to Darkseid. With hints over the course of the two seasons, it was revealed that the evil New God had been conspiring with Vandal Savage, Lex Luthor, and the rest of the villains all along.
It’ll be interesting to see how Nightwing, Miss Martian, Aqualad, Superboy, and Artemis are affected by that event and the death of Wally West, who sacrificed his life to save everyone else in the Season 2 finale.
Young Justice: Outsiders will return in 2018.
