After having a huge day at Disney’s D23 Expo debuting an explosive teaser to Avengers: Infinity War and unveiling Thanos‘ Black Order, Marvel Studios invited the actor behind Thanos himself to sign special prints made for the event.

If you look at the prints closely enough, you’ll notice the Mad Titan in a position all too familiar to fans that have followed the supervillain’s path throughout his duration in the world of comics books.

With the Infinity Gauntlet โ€” which has all six Infinity Stones assembled, might I add โ€” in tow, a very angry Thanos can be seen looking out among the cosmos, presumably trying to determine which planet to raze next.

The promo art โ€” an amazingly beautiful piece created by Ryan Meinerding, the head of visual development at Marvel Studios โ€” appears to pay tribute to George Perez‘s iconic cover to The Infinity Gauntlet #1 (1991).

On the cover that started the events of Thanos destroying humanity as we know it, the Mad Titan can be seen in a very similar position. He’s surrounded by many of Marvel’s finest character such as the Sorcerer Supreme Dr. Strange and the Silver Surfer.
