We first learned back in February that USAopoly and Czech Games would team up for a Marvel edition of the extremely popular Codenames social word game. Now we have our first look at the revamped game, along with news that it can be pre-ordered for shipment in August.

Codenames has taken the world by storm! Now the hit social word game, with over one million units sold, has landed in the Marvel Universe! In the Marvel Edition of Codenames it’s a battle between team S.H.I.E.L.D. team and team HYDRA to see who can identify their team’s Asset Cards first. A Key Card, visible only to the team Directors indicates what Asset Cards belong to their team. Test your knowledge and strategic clue-giving skills as you help your team guess characters and items from Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man and more!

Codenames: Marvel includes: 200 Codename Cards, 40 Key Cards, 25 Cover Cards (8 S.H.I.E.L.D., 8 HYDRA, 7 Neutral, 1 Double Agent, 1 Thanos Assassin), and 1 Card Stand.

USAopoly has also revealed images of the Marvel-themed cards, which you can check out in the gallery. As noted back in February, a Disney edition is also in the works, and was originally slated to release alongside the Marvel version. USAopoly hasn’t made an official release announcement on the Disney Family Edition, but we discovered that the game is also available to pre-order for an August shipment. The description reads:

The Codenames Disney Family Game combines the hit social word game with some of Disney’s most beloved characters. In the game two Cluemasters give one-word clues to help their teammates identify the Disney characters, locations, and items from a 25 card game grid. Including both pictures and words, the Codenames Disney Family Game is great family fun for game night.

Indeed. Game night looks like it will be infused with a lot of Disney/Pixar/Marvel fun this fall.
