Now, it’s being reported that The Batman‘s new director Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) has ditched the script Affleck co-wrote with DC head Geoff Johns and Argo writer Chris Terrio.

Not only that, Reeves has reportedly brought on long-time collaborator Mark Bomback (The Wolverine) to co-write a new treatment, according to SplashReport.

In addition to his credits as screenwriter on The Wolverine, Bomback has also worked on action blockbusters such as Live Free or Die Hard (2007) and the Total Recall remake (2012).

Bomback and Reeves worked together on both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes.

While Warner Brothers has yet to confirm a new script, or Affleck stepping away from playing Bruce Wayne in the DCEU, all of the signs are pointing that way. In the meantime, the one thing we do know is that Affleck’s take on the Caped Crusader will be appearing in the Fall’s Justice League.
