Earlier today, the magazine announced Riverdale as the winner of their annual Fall TV Preview Cover Battle. The Archie Comics-inspired series beat out sixty-four shows, including American Horror Story, Stranger Things, and fellow The CW series The Flash and Arrow, to to earn the top spot.
Some of Riverdale‘s ensemble cast – K.J. Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, and Casey Cott – recorded a special video to thank their fans for voting, which you can check out below.
Riverdale graced the cover of another magazine earlier this summer, appearing on TV Guide’s The CW-themed Comic-Con covers.
The Riverdale-themed issue will be exclusive to Entertainment Weekly subscribers, and is set to hit mailboxes on September 15th. If you’d like to score a copy, you need to be subscribed to Entertainment Weekly by September 3rd.
Riverdale is pulling out all of the stops ahead of its upcoming Season 2 premiere. The series recently revealed a rather ominous poster for the upcoming season, which is said to be scarier – and possibly more supernatural – than before.
