Booze, Brawls, and Archie's Mom Make Their Way to Riverdale In "The Lost Weekend" Trailer

The CW has released the official teaser trailer for "The Lost Weekend," next week's episode of Riverdale.

The episode features guest star Molly Ringwald, best known for her string of hits in the '80s but more recently a featured player on Raising Expectations and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

When she comes to town, it seems as though Mary Andrews might be coming to codify what we've already seen: she and her husband are basically through.

"When Archie's mom comes back, the stuff with Fred and Hermione looks as though it's going to come to an end. Archie's mom figures out what's going on between them so there's no rekindling for [Archie's parents] at this moment in time," series star KJ Apa told ComicBook.com during a set visit back in February. "He hasn't seen her for a long time so it's obviously really surprising when she comes in the door with Fred. The few scenes we have together are really great."

Meanwhile, Jughead's birthday party gets out of control and, with the attendance of the football team, we get what appears to be a makeout session between one player and Cheryl, while a former player -- Chuck Clayton -- get decked by the birthday boy himself.

You can check out the official synopsis below.

When Fred (Luke Perry) decides to finalize the divorce with Archie's mother Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald), Archie (KJ Apa) hides his true feelings. Archie tries to win Valerie (guest star Hayley Law) back with a romantic evening, however, Betty (Lili Reinhart) hijacks his plans when she decides to throw Jughead (Cole Sprouse) a surprise birthday party. Once Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) learns of the party, she decides to make it interesting and things quickly get out of control. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) contemplates whether she should participate in the deposition to help get her Dad released. Madchen Amick and Marishol Nichols also star. Dawn Wilkinson directed the episode written by Britta Lundin & Brian E. Paterson.
