Oni Press Exclusive: Invader Zim Variant Cover by Jhonen Vasquez

Oni Press has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at series creator Jhonen Vasquez's variant cover for Invader Zim #1, due out next month from the publisher.

This cover is a retailer incentive available at comic shops who ordered enough copies (although preorders have already closed on the title, so you'll have to ask your shop whether they'll be getting it).

Invader Zim #1, written by Vasquez, penciler and writer Aaron Alexovich, writer Eric Trueheart, inker Megan Lawton and colorist Rikki Simons (the voice of GIR in the cartoon that inspired the series) will be available on July 1, 2015, with a number of variant covers including a Comic Con International: San Diego variant.

The animated series, which ended in 2006, remains a huge cult hit with a solid following years later.
