Dragon Ball Creator On Which Hero He Thinks Will Die For Good

When it comes to Dragon Ball, death is little more than an inconvenience if not a reason to train a bit. The anime has featured a slew of characters who have tragically died only to be resurrected in a handful of episodes. Heroes like Goku and Vegeta are just two characters who have been revived thanks to the anime's Dragon Balls, so it's no surprise to hear fans have long wondered which of the show's heroes would die first for good.

And, thanks to a previous interview in the fourth volume of Daizenshuu, fans can read up on Akira Toriyama's thoughts on the issue.

As translated by Kanzenshuu, the creator of Dragon Ball has been asked before about which characters he thinks will live longest and die soonest. In the past, Toriyama said one of the franchise's strongest characters may be the first to go:

"Everybody dies eventually, but Vegeta seems like he has high blood pressure so he'll probably go suddenly." Toriyama joked.

Of course, it doesn't seem likely that any permanent death will be coming to the Dragon Ball franchise. The issue has long divide fans as audiences have wondered what can be at stake if everyone's lives can be returned. In the Dragon Ball Z anime, fans watched as the Dragon Balls revived entire populations while Dragon Ball Super introduced Whis' power to literally turn back time. The series' growing list of miraculous revivals has some tired, but Vegeta surely won't be the first character to permanently rest in peace.

As for the saga's start date, the new arc premiered on February 5, 2017. The "Universal Survival" saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
