It is now February which means spring is just around the corner. So, for you anime fans, that means a new season coming with all-new anime in tow! There have already been more than 40 anime shows announced, and in that list, there are so many new and returning anime to get excited about. Spring 2017 is shaping up to be one of the best anime seasons in years – and we’ve got a guide to help you sort through everything coming up.

Attack On Titan: Season 2

Attack On Titan has quickly become one of the most popular anime of all time. After four years of anxiously waiting for the new season, the legendary series returns with a vengeance. If you have not watched the first season, GO WATCH IT NOW. Season two promises to push the envelope once again with brutal violence, bad ass characters, and a story that never seems to disappoint.

Funimation has already commented on season two: “Attack On Titan is set to return in April 2017. See the first glimpse of the new season here in this official promotional video from Kodansha! New titans, new locations, and new human warriors as well as many familiar faces come into play this time around.” 

 

My Hero Academia: Season 2

If you love shounen anime’s, then My Hero Academia is right up your alley. The series is loosely inspired by western superhero comics and houses amazing characters with ridiculous super powers. It follows the middle schooler Izuku Midoriya as he strives to be the hero he always dreamed of. The first season received many praise as being a must watch, and season two is no different, promising to deliver more action and loveable characters.

Rage of Bahamu: Virgin Soul

The second season of Rage of Bahamut is coming, and the preview looks insanely intense. The first season ended in 2014, recieving rave reviews from fans. The show is an epic battle fantasy anime with a unique universe, gods clashing with legendary human heroes, and dragons. If you are looking for some epic battles and a beautiful fantasy setting, this is a show you will definitely want to be watching.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh!

The heart of the cards and the power of friendship still runs strong with the latest installment of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. The new sixth series centers around Yusaku Fujiki, and don’t worry, he does have memorable ridiculous hair. There is not much known about the upcoming season, but we do know we will get awesome card duel action, and hopefully some classic Yu-Gi-Oh! quotes. So get your duel disks and trap cards ready, because it is almost time to d-d-d-d-duel!

Natsume’s Book of Friends: Season 6

One of the best slice of life anime of all time, it is a slower show that will sometimes make you laugh, and sometimes cry, but you will never regret watching it. It is one of the most relaxing anime series around, with beautiful artwork, and characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. The story follows Natsume as he interacts with spirits and helps the find peace. It is a must-watch that is good to sample if you want to just relax after a long day of work or school. It never disappoints!

 

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

GET READY FOR MORE NARUTO…Well, technically his son Boruto. The new series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations focuses on the story of Naruto’s son as he attempts to make a name for himself. Unlike his father before him, Boruto has no dreams about becoming Hokage and instead wants to become a fierce ninja like his Uncle Sasuke. Though some Naruto fans are skeptical, the anime’s preview seems promising. Believe it!

Atom The Beginning

This anime is essentially the story of what happens up until the birth of Astro Boy. Not much is known about it, but the series has promise. It follows two scientists as they dive into robot research. One strives to create a “god,” and on strives to create a “friend.” Thus a robot, A106, was born from their collaborative friendship. The manga and anime tell a prequel story leading up to the birth of Astro Boy.Sci-Fi fans should definitely keep an eye on this series and look out for the previews which should be coming soon.

 

Clockwork Planet

The preview looks beautiful, the story seems interesting, and the show is made by the same person that did No Game No Life. The visuals and sound design look and sound fantastic, and this is definitely one to keep an eye on if you are a fan of sci-fi or visually appealing anime series.
