Whether you watch Naruto or dabble with sports anime like Kuroko’s Basketball, there are characters out there just waiting to chuck out their favorite sayings. Shows often find themselves littered with characters who utter familiar phrases to help audiences keep track of which bright-haired protagonist they are, and the sayings are known to get stuck on a loop.
Over at Charapedia (via CrunchyRoll), the website went through the arduous task of polling anime fans to find out what the best anime catachphrases are to-date. So, in the following slides, you’ll get to see if your favorite quip made the list.

Honestly, there was no way this phrase wasn’t going to make the list. The hero utters the saying every other sentence.

If you hear any anime guru say this to you, run away as fast as possible. They are taking after the hero of Fist of the North Star, and they may not hesitate to swing.

Detective Conan fans will be familiar with this simple phrase. Heiji Hattori seems to use it as a tick these days, and the aspiring sleuth can’t seem to make himself stop.

These days, there is no anime catchphrase more popular than this one from Love Live! The adorable series may follow a group of fledgling school idols, but Nico stood out thanks to her adorable callout. The fandom has since adopted the phrase and used “Nico Nico Nii” as a full-out meme generator.
