This year will see one of the world’s biggest shoe brands go Super Saiyan. Adidas will release a special shoe line inspired by Dragon Ball in 2018, but the collection’s designs have been met with mixed reviews so far. Some fans have asked Nike to make up for its competition’s lackluster pieces, and one artist just tried his hand at the hypothetical line.

As you can see below, Walsh Design stumbled onto something big with his work.

Over on Instagram, the sneaker fan shared designs for his dream Nike collection. The pieces cover an array of Dragon Ball characters, and their bright colors already have fans feeling good.

The differences between the real Adidas collection and this wishful Nike one are hard to miss. Clearly, the shoes themselves are different, but the patterns for each hero’s design are differ as well. Both lines use the same color schemes for each anime-centric sneakers, but the Nike designs do not come off as high-brow as the Adidas ones.

For instance, take Bulma’s shoes. The concept art is based on the Epic React style, and it is colored pink and teal with purple-white accents. The svelte shoe looks as petite as Bulma herself, and its cute aesthetic captures the heroine’s essence.

On the other hand, Goku gets a gritty adaptation with his Airmax 1 sneakers. The orange-and-blue shoes have a white accent. As for its orange panels, their edges are roughen to simulate the way Goku’s uniform tears in battle, and its backside even houses the Nike swoop logo within a tiny Nimbus butt.

Talk about attention to detail, right? You can check out the full fan-made collection in the photo gallery above!

DragonBall Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturday evenings at 7:15 p.m. CST. Adult Swim airs the English dub during its Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m, and is now available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon Video.
