Remain calm, everyone! It looks like a fan-favorite android is about to make their return to anime thanks to Dragon Ball Super. So far, Android 18 has been seen here and there in the new show, but the heroine's brother has yet to make an appearance. However, it looks like that is all about to change. According to the synopsis for the show's 85th episode, fans can expect Android 17 to make his long-awaited comeback sooner than they expect.
Thanks to Todd Blankenship, a translated synopsis for "The Universes Get Into Gear: Each One's Thoughts" can be read below:
"Goku visits the god Dende in order to learn the location of Android No. 17. Meanwhile, the Kaiōshin of all the universes participating in the "Tournament of Power" gather in Universe 11."
For fans wondering what Android 17 has been up to, you can rest assured knowing the man has kept busy. At the end of Dragon Ball Z, fans watched as Vegeta convinced Dende to revive all the good-hearted victims on Earth who died thanks to Kid Buu's devastating attacks. The wish ultimately led to Android 17's revival, and the former antagonist then lent a hand to Goku when the hero was gathering energy for a massive Spirit Bomb to obliterate Buu. From then on, Android 17 went on to live a quiet life as a park ranger who starred occasionally in Dragon Ball GT.
Dragon Ball Super recently kicked off the 'Universal Survival' saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:
"At Goku's request, the Omni-Kings' "Tournament of Power" martial arts tournament between universes now begins! …But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished…?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out…?!"
Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
