In just a matter of days, Toei Animation will be bringing Dragon Ball Super to new heights thanks to its upcoming ‘Universal Survival’ saga. With the anime having ended its explosive ‘Future Trunks’ arc, fans were wondering how the shonen series would step up its game, and the folks behind Dragon Ball Super decided a life-or-death martial arts tournament was the way to go. But, instead of just one life being at risk, warriors will find themselves duking it out to protect their entire universes.

So, of course, it makes sense to know that Goku is the one behind the whole ordeal. Thanks to a new synopsis for Dragon Ball Super‘s 77th episode, fans can get a glimpse at how the ‘Universal Survival’ arc begins – and it all gets rolling because of the clueless Saiyan.
You can check out the episode’s synopsis for Weekly Shonen Jump below:
“Let’s Do It, Omni-King! The Universe’s Greatest Martial Arts Tournament!!
Hosted by Omni-King!
Goku trains with Whis to get back in shape. Then he remembers how the Omni-King said he’d hold a martial arts tournament involving every universe. Goku immediately uses the button he got from Omni-King to go discuss it with him, but…?!
Goku’s in high spirits, but Beerus and Whis are…?!
The Universe’s Greatest Martial Arts Tournament is about to begin!!
Goku’s completely unafraid of Omni-King, which keeps Beerus and co. biting their fingernailsโฆ?!”
Clearly, Beerus and Whis know something that Goku does not when it comes to Zen-Oh. Sure, the hero knows the Omni-King has limitless powers thanks to his involvement with the ‘Future Trunks’ saga, but very few things can shake Goku from his goals when fighting is involved.
In February, Dragon Ball Super‘s story arc is set to kick off with the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:
“At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! โฆBut this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquishedโฆ?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn outโฆ?!”
