When you think of leaders in Dragon Ball, there’s little doubt Goku comes straight to mind. The Saiyan is the de facto hero of Akira Toriyama’s series, and Dragon Ball Super has impressed that fact upon viewers. Goku has grown significantly since the new anime series debuted as he has racked up new Super Saiyan forms. However, it is Gohan who will take charge as leader in the anime’s coming episodes, and the younger Saiyan is about to be tested big time.

A brand-new summary for Dragon Ball Super‘s next episode has been released, and it sees Gohan’s leadership challenged. The anime will roll out episode 96 on June 25th when “The Time Is Here! To the World of Void, For the Fate of the Universe!!” premieres. You can read the synopsis for the episode below:
“The 10 members who will participate in the Tournament of Power gather at Capsule Corporation. Gohan, who was selected as the leader, talks about the importance of teamwork, but, it seems unlikely that the team will join forces that easily.”
According to the TV Guide summary, Dragon Ball Super‘s next episode will put Gohan in a difficult position. Goku’s eldest son was selected to be the team leader for Universe 7 at the Tournament of Power because of his recent improvements. Gohan recently reacquired the ability to enter his Ultimate Form, and Goku was hugely impressed by his son’s warrior conviction when the pair fought several episode back.
Still, not even Gohan’s newfound power can make him a revered leader. There is a rift brewing within Universe 7’s team thanks to its recent addition of Freeza. The revived villain is one of the series most notorious baddies, and the alien has killed some of his team members before. Sorry Krillin!
With the Tournament of Power just moments away, the team will need to come to terms or at least a temporary truce if they want to survive. The fate of Universe 7 rest on the fighters’ shoulders, and it will be up to Gohan to channel his dad’s commanding presence if he wants his team to succeed.
The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super‘s current saga can be read here:
“According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called “Chikara no Taikai” (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe’s elite warriors?”
Dragon Ball Super‘s “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
