Warning! Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super lie below!

In the coming weeks, Dragon Ball Super will finally get action rolling with its on-going story arc. The ‘Universal Survival’ saga had its debut back in February, and Goku has now recruited enough fighters to help him defend Universe 7 at the Tournament of Power. The Saiyan will be joined by the likes of Gohan, Piccolo, and more – but one upcoming team addition has fans nervous. Thanks to some recent episode synopses, fans learned that Freeza would be revived temporarily to take Majin Buu’s spot.

Don’t worry though! It’s not like the baddie is being brought back for good. Fortuneteller Baba only plans to bring Freeza back for a short period of time, so yes – that means the villain will get a halo.

Thanks to Twitter user @yonkouproductions, anime fans have learned Freeza will still wear his halo when he’s brought back for Dragon Ball Super. An image of the character was found on the anime’s website after some tech-savvy fans URL jiggled the landing page for the ‘Universal Survival’ arc. The image has a timestamp from back in March, prompting fans to believe Toei Animation has had Freeza on its mind for some time now.

Of course, this will not be the first time fans have seen Freeza don a halo in the Dragon Ball canon. While residents of Hell typically aren’t given halos, Freeza is one of the few who does. Others include Cell, King Cold, Dr. Gero, and more. A fighter is given a halo when the deceased warrior chooses to keep their bodies intact in the afterlife.

As for Majin Buu, fans are still holding on to hope that the character may still fight in the tournament. According to new synopses, the pink alien is falls into a ritual sleep shortly before the tournament, and the fighters from Universe 7 are unable to wake him up. Desperate, Goku then turns to Freeza as an alternative fighter.

You can read up on the synopsis for the next Dragon Ball Super episode below. “Which Universe Will Prevails?! The Mightiest Warriors Assemble!!” airs on May 20th:

“In the training match, Gohan displays enough power to hold his own against Goku, showing that he’s grown stronger than ever before. Meanwhile, Vegeta heads to God’s palace to start training in the Room of Spirit and Time.”
