Dragon Ball Super doesn’t do favorites unless Goku is in the picture, but Master Roshi has had a good few weeks on the series. The anime‘s latest episode finally took a plunge with the fighter and gave fans a moment to remember why Roshi is an undeniable MVP.

Dragon Ball Super aired its 107th episode this weekend, and it saw Master Roshi come under fire from Universe 6. The older man hadn’t even healed from his bout with Universe 4, but Frost thought it would be best to ousted Roshi when the man was still recovering.

Fans watched as Frost toyed with Roshi, basically torturing the fighter as Goku was prevented from aiding his mentor. As the fight goes on, Frost comments that it is hard to fight Roshi because he’s got to hold back from killing the meager human, but Frost shut his mouth when Roshi began his comeback.

Determined to push Frost back, Roshi pulled out one of his most powerful moves: the Evil Containment Wave. The fighter forced Frost into the devastating attack, leaving the Universe 6 warrior to panic as Roshi aimed to seal him in a vessel. Sadly, the fighter missed at first and let Frost escape – but Roshi didn’t stop there.

Frost bubbled up enough ire within Roshi to make the man use a second Evil Containment Wave. The attack was redirected to seal Vegeta, but Roshi refused to let his waning energy be wasted whilst Vegeta was imprisoned. With his remaining power, Roshi was able to free the Saiyan from his makeshift seal, and Frost abandoned the pair once he saw Vegeta go Super Saiyan Blue.

By the episode’s end, Roshi was left with no other choice than to bow out of the Tournament of Power. Both Vegeta and Beerus said the fighter needed to eat a Senzu Bean before he actually died, and Roshi quietly accepted the advice. The fighter may not have continued on in the Tournament by beating Frost, but Roshi proved to the Universe 6 villain that old men are not weak ones – especially when they’ve trained the likes of Goku and Krillin.

As fans can imagine, the Internet is in a tizzy over Roshi’s tear-jerking comeback. Dragon Ball Super reminded the fandom of why the Turtle Hermit is more than a peeping pervert; Roshi is one of Goku’s revered teachers – and what’s more – he is a fighter who can threaten Frost’s Final Form.

Jiren is cool, yeah. Kale and Caulifla’s Super Saiyan transformations were also pretty alright. However, there are few things that can top Master Roshi’s comeback as of late though.

HallofSpoilers

Master Roshi is no stranger to forfeiting in a tournament, but he never does so to save himself. The figher has done so to help Tenshinhan, and Roshi did so again this week to give his teammates peace of mind. After all, if Roshi had died, Goku would not have been able to keep it together against guys like Jiren.

To be honest, everyย Dragon Ball game should involve Master Roshi in some form. The Turtle Hermit has surely proven himself by now, yeah?

Novanator

Dragon Ball Super fans have been vocals as of late about Krillin and Tenshinhan. The pair were eliminated very early on in the Tournament of Power, but Roshi’s recent arc has helped soothe the anger of Dragon Ball Z fans.

Mamba

Roshi knows he’s done well when he voluntarily eliminates himself and still gets praised by Beerus for a good fight. If the God of Destruction acknowledges you, then you have already made it.
