The live-action movie looks drastically different from the anime – in more ways than one – and fans around the world are finding things to fuss about.
From the casting, to the style, most people seem to be incredibly unhappy with what the film is doing.
Some do think the new film looks great, and can’t wait to see it, but they’re in the minority here. Those who hated the new footage have come out of the woodwork, and they are not letting up.
Take a look at how Twitter has been reacting to the new trailer, and enjoy a laugh or two amidst all the controversy.
Good News First
The positive responses to the new teaser were honestly few and far between. Many people ragged on the new movie for its casting of white actors, but there are some who seem pretty pumped about it.

But, Willem Dafoe
Let’s not forget, there is a silver lining to all of this. No matter how you feel about the new film. Willem Dafoe is voicing Ryuk – and that’s something worth celebrating.
ย
I’ve said this before, but William Dafoe as Ryuk will be the best thing about this Deathnote film.
