Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season is preparing to arrive next January, bringing back Yuji Itadori and company to work their way through the devastating storyline known as the Culling Game Arc. While the anime adaptation has big plans for Jujutsu Tech, this isn’t the only place where the sorcerers will have some challenges to tackle. The mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is planning to bring together its heroes to unite with new characters and tackle a brand new threat. While we might be waiting months to jump into this new supernatural adventure, we have the details regarding the new Jujutsu Kaisen storyline.

While a specific release date has yet to be revealed for the “Cursed Prison Island Arc,” the shonen franchise has already described what mobile gamers and anime enthusiasts can expect. The story itself takes place within a “special prison” that was created to hold curse users in place, though all isn’t as it appears to be in the locale. Many of the prisoners appear to be held for no reason, leaving Yuji Itadori and Kento Nanami the task of getting to the bottom of this mystery. Newcomers to the series Eiji Urushi, Ritsu Mitsufuji, and Hidaka Shirakura will arrive as a part of the event, having never appeared in the manga and/or anime adaptation. You can check out the new characters’ visuals and descriptions below.

What is the Phantom Parade?
Like many other anime entries in the mobile world, Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is a “gacha game” that allows players to collect some of the biggest heroes and villains from the franchise. Jujutsu Tech is in good company when it comes to this market, as shonen franchises such as Dragon Ball, Bleach, One Piece, and many more are currently available to download for free. Considering Studio MAPPA’s involvement in the game itself, the visuals are on the same level as the anime, making for a worthy experience in that regard. So far, the story of the game has blended classic moments with new story elements to create a fresh experience.
As for Jujutsu Kaisen’s future outside of the mobile arena, there is plenty for supernatural shonen fans to look forward to. Jujutsu Kaisen’s third anime season arrives early next year, and while the manga might have already ended Yuji Itadori’s tale, creator Gege Akutami wasted little time in creating a new storyline in this universe. Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is the sequel series to the original manga, not just taking place over sixty years after the story that started it all, but also introducing extraterrestrials into the mix. We are most likely years away from seeing Modulo animated, but based on the popularity of the shonen franchise, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before we witness this sequel hit the screen.
