Spring has sprung, and with the new season, comes popular new anime series popping up left and right. For fans of classic series, there is also good news for you, as one franchise will be getting new content for the first time in almost 20 years. The classic series following the magical girl, Cardcaptor Sakura, will not only be getting a new series, but also a OAD (Original Animation DVD). The captor is coming back and to prepare you for the upcoming television season, there will be a OAD released to bridge the gap.

There has been a teaser released (seen above) for the new OAD Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Arc Prologue: Sakura and the Two Bears. The movie is the prologue to the new series coming next year, and apparently is the continuation of the final episode of the Sakura Arc from the original series. The new DVD will be bundled in a upcoming special edition of a reprint of the third-volume of the original Cardcaptor Sakura manga which will go on sale September 13. There has also been a visual released to announce the OAD coming with the manga (seen below).

"Ten-year-old Sakura lives a pretty normal life with her older brother, Toya, and widowed father, Fujitaka. Or she did, until the day she returned home from school to discover a glowing book in her father's study. After opening the book and releasing the cards within, Sakura is tasked with collecting each of these magical cards, while trying to live the life of a normal fourth grader. In the monumental task of collecting all the cards, Sakura must rely on her friends and family, and decide what she finds most important in life."

The new DVD will bring fans back to the nostalgic stopping point that ended the series, when Sakura receives a stuffed bear from the love-interest Syaoran, who finally confessed his love for her before leaving her in Japan. This is where the preview video starts, with Sakura saying in the narration, "I have to tell Syaoran my true feelings," and to do so she begins making "a certain something."

Fans will hopefully be happy with something to hold them over until the new season. The new story arc, Clear Card, is set to premier in January of 2018, and the new Sakura and the Two Bear OAD will be available to purchase with the manga on September 13.
