For Yusuke Murata, everyday is another chance to show off his love for Dragon Ball. The One Punch Man artist may be best known for drawing Saitama and Genos, but that does not mean he can’t cheer for Goku as well. Over the past few days, Murata has stunned fans by sharing sketches of big-time Dragon Ball characters like Goku and Krillin. And, now, the artist has turned his sights to more heavenly fighters.

Taking to Twitter, Murata shared another slew of Dragon Ball sketches which have made anime fans buzz. As you can see in the slides below, the pictures highlight new characters introduced in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Super. Fighters like Beerus, Whis, and Vados were penned by Murata, and the characters look undeniably fierce.

Fans of Murata will not be surprised to see the artist’s love for Dragon Ball; After all, the man is not shy about his interest in Akira Toriyama’s series. In the past, Murata has been tasked to create anniversary sketches for Dragon Ball, and the artist told fans he felt he couldn’t live up to Toriyama’s work.

“If its drawn too detailed, it won’t match Toriyama-sensei’s style, I’ll have to stop at some point,” Murata told fans during a livestream wherein he sketched a Dragon Ball poster. “My kids love Dragon Ball too. I’ll bring a copy back after I completed it, and tell him daddy drew Dragon Ball. It’s truly amazing that people from all generations watch Dragon Ball.”

“I messed up on Goku’s face every time, feels like something’s wrong with it,” he continued later. “I tried my best to replicate Toriyama-sensei’s style, and I’m still able to feel how awesome he is. Still feeling that I’m not drawing it good enough.”

For now, you can be the judge of whether Murata nails or fails with his take on Dragon Ball Super’s powerful newcomers. You can look through the pictures in the slides below!

Beerus

Alright, so fans can tell there is something just a tad different about Murata’sย take on Beerus. Just one glance at the sketch will tell you the God of Destruction has been hitting the gym. And do you see those nails? Even Chi-Chi would think twice about stepping to Beerusย thanks to his claws alone!

Whis

Looking as dignified as ever, Whis is the picture of grace under Murata’s pen. The One Punch Man artist has carefully captured the sense of superiority which the Angel carries about, and his slanted eyes look like they are either about to annihilate someone or steal their sweets.ย

Vados

Whis may look elegant under Murata’s hand, but his mirror Vados looks downright ethereal. The Angel is drawn twice as the character’s side-by-side profile is shown off to fans. With her hair tied back in a ponytail, Vadosย arched eyebrows and graceful silhouetteย looks perfect.ย
