The ‘Champions Edition’ Blu-ray contains the entire first season (52 episodes) in a six-disc set. The set features episodes in full 1080p with English dubbed as well as English SDH subtitled dialogue options. Bonus features include a complete “Pokerap” video and “Who’s That Pokemon?” digital art gallery. A recipe card from The Pokemon Cookbook: Easy and Fun Recipes and a Pokemon Adventures Vol. 1 mini-manga sampler are also included. You can order the Pokemon: Indigo League – Season 1 Champion’s Edition Blu-ray set right here for $52.59, which is 25-percent off the list price. Take advantage of the sale while you can.

If you’re unfamiliar, this Blu-ray set includes Ash And Pikachu’s first anime adventures in a 52-episode set that represents Season 1 as it aired in the U.S. in 1998-99. Obviously, it would have been nice if the set included all 80 episodes – but it’s not surprising that they would be split up for the Blu-ray releases. The synopsis reads:

“As Pokemon Indigo League opens, it’s Ash Ketchum’s tenth birthday, and he’s ready to do what many 10-year-olds in the Kanto region set out to do—become a Pokémon Trainer! Things don’t go exactly the way he planned when he ends up with Pikachu instead of a standard first Pokémon, and winning Gym badges turns out to be much tougher than he thought. Luckily, he’s got former Gym Leaders Brock and Misty at his side, along with a bevy of new Pokémon friends, including Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander.”
