All over the world, but specifically in Tokyo, Maid Cafes are becoming more popular and well known. Essentially they are cosplay resturant in which the waitresses dress in maid costumes and sere the food. There are different themes and staff to attach different clientele. Usually the ordering certain menu items will get you a place mat, coaster, or picture with your waitress to take home with you.

The new Gudetama maid cafe is a collaboration with an already established cafe, the Home Cafe Akihabara. All the dishes feature Gudetama, and the theme is based on the adorable lazy egg. The adorable staff prepares and serves a special menu full of Gudetama entrees and desserts, including the Just let me sleep like this forever sandwich, and the let’s worry about it after taking a nap udon (seen below). Plates start at 1,000 yen, about $9, and there is also loads of Gudetama maid merchandise exclusively for sale at the cafe.

The Gudetama festivities at @Home Cafe will only be going on until February 28. Check out pictures of the menu, and goodies in the gift shop below.
