Steven Universe wrapped its fifth season some time ago, and fans have been waiting to see what's next to come from the mega popular series ever since. There was a surprise when it was announced that the series would be continuing with a huge film, and it would be a full musical nonetheless. After getting fans ready for its huge premiere with a week long marathon of every episode of the series thus far, Steven Universe: The Movie finally had its debut on Cartoon Network.

With a special commercial-free airing, the musical debuted to an incredible response from fans. They felt that the film was not only a good entry point to the series for potential new fans, a great continuation of what's come before, and a brand new adventure with a musical production that flourished even more than it ever could with its bite sized episodes.
