Yu-Gi-Oh! Creator Shares Virtual Reality Anime Artwork

When it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kazuki Takahashi is king. The artist created the franchise years ago and now stands as the fandom’s go-to source for all things Duel Monsters. Online, Takahashi has an active following on social media as the artist tends to treat fans to doodles over on Instagram. And, over the past weeks, the artist has been kind enough to share some stunning virtual reality drawings inspired by the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! movie.

Taking to Instagram, Takahashi has done his part to promote Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions. The franchise’s latest film had its U.S. release back in January, and the film has been well-received by fans of the series. The film, which focuses on Yugi Muto, follows the anime icon as he nears graduation and deals with his loss of Atem. However, when a new threat emerges in the world of Duel Monsters, Yugi finds himself thrust back into the game alongside his friends. And, of course, his rival Seto Kaiba is one step behind him wherever he goes.

Awhile back, Takahasi uploaded his first Yu-Gi-Oh! VR drawing. “Dangerous! Recently I am addicted to VR’s drawing! It’s hard to get used to painting in 3D space but it’s amazing,” the creator wrote. The image shows a slew of Kuriboh facing down the fearsome Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

In another drawing, Takahashi draws Yugi himself with Silfer the Sky Dragon. Most recently, the artist uploaded a sketch of Kaiba dueling with Obelisk the Tormentor at his side.
