, AMC's hit drama series based on the post-apocalyptic survival comics by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard, are teaming with the American Red Cross for a high-profile blood drive which will see celebrities come get made up like zombies for the cause. Peter Jackson, The Black Keys, Joel Madden, Mena Suvari, Aisha Tyler, NASCAR's Kurt Busch and EXTRA's Maria Menounos and other celebrities will be "zombie-fied" through digital portraits created by The Walking Dead's Emmy-winning special effects make-up guru Greg Nicotero, according to a press release from AMC. The undead celebrity photos will run on AMC in a custom Public 'Zombie' Announcement and online at the network's dedicated campaign micro-site, www.amcgiveblood.com. The PZA reminds viewers to use their "braaains" and give blood through the Red Cross. AMC is also organizing a sweepstakes to thank those who support blood donation through the Red Cross. The grand prize is a visit to the set of The Walking Dead in Atlanta, Georgia. Details are available at the micro-site. The drive runs today through October 22.
