Generally, the 30-second spot that Marvel Studios ran for Iron Man 3 was not hugely well-received online. The ad, after all, was little more than an announcement that the movie is coming out, with instructions to go to the Iron Man 3 Facebook page to enjoy the “extended” trailer that felt quite a bit more like a trailer. But, much like tonight’s power outage, it’s created a surge (no pun intended) of interesting reactions on Twitter. Besides the huge number of responses that were asking for Tony Stark to swoop in, fix the outage and resume the game, most of them were making fun of the feeling that the trailer lacked payoff. Some of our favorites:

And, in the interest of a democratic response, there were a bunch of people just generally “squee”ing about the trailer that aren’t worth repeating, but CNN and Comic Book Resources contributor Alan Kistler distilled the “calm down” argument pretty perfectly:
And for people complaining the Iron Man trailer is too short, it’s a trailer/teaser. Not a plot summary. Wait for the film. — Alan Kistler (@SizzlerKistler) February 4, 2013
