According to Deadline, Shea Whigham and John Ortiz have joined the cast of Legendary’s Kong: Skull Island.

No details were provided on the roles Whigham and Ortiz will play. Whigham, 46, is best known for playing Sheriff Elias “Eli” Thompson on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and Chief Dooley on Marvel’s Agent Carter. While Ortiz, 47, co-starred in Rake and is probably best known for his feature film debut in Carlito’s Way, playing Al Pacino’s fast-talking cousin Guajiro.
They join a cast that already includes Tom Hiddleston, Jason Mitchell, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Thomas Mann and Samuel L. Jackson.
The film is said to follow Hiddleston’s character as he mans a rescue mission searching for his brother, who lost on the island while searching for a panacea called Titan. Man’s character will be part of the rescue operation.
Kong: Skull Island will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island.Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.
Kong: Skull Island will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on March 10, 2017.
