Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ming-Na Wen On The Shocking Reveal In “Among Us Hide…”

SPOILERS for the most recent episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “Among Us Hide…,” follow.

Tonight’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. dropped a huge surprise. Not only is Andrew Garner still alive, but it was he who blew up the convenient store – after transforming into the Inhuman killing machine called Lash!

The first member of S.H.I.E.L.D. to learn the truth was Andrew’s wife, Agent Melinda May. We asked actress Ming-Na Wen if she was as shocked as her character was when she learned the truth about Andrew.

“You know, I feel so dumb, because her I am in the thick of shooting our show, and when I read that script my jaw dropped,” she said. “I was so surprised. Completely, completely, thoroughly surprised. And here I am reading on Twitter all these fans are coming with that idea. And I can’t answer, of course, but it amazes me how smart our audience is, because I was completely blindsided. I never, never even suspected until after I had read that script. I guess, as Ming, I would not be a very good agent [laughs]. I don’t know what it is with May and bad boys, but she doesn’t choose men wisely.”

Now that she knows the truth, it seems like May might have to choose between S.H.I.E.L.D. and husband.

“I can’t give anything away, but all I can say is it definitely puts May in some of the toughest positions of her life,” Wen hinted. “I think for her to leave S.H.I.E.L.D. was, on the one hand, just a hope and a dream, but now that she’s back and has to face this, Andrew is the love of her life. Putting the pieces together and realizing that she may have to make another horrible decision – Bahrain already messed her up, so I can’t even imagine what it would do to her.”
