Agents Of SHIELD To Air On Tuesday Nights

ABC has officially announced their Fall prime time schedule. While ABC hasn’t revealed the exact premiere date for Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD, they have announced a time slot for the show.  Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD will air on Tuesday nights at 8 PM ET.Comic book fans should be pleased with this time slot for Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD, and it gives the show a great chance of success. If ABC had scheduled the show on Friday nights, then it would have shown a lack of confidence in the series, as Friday tends to be where new shows go to die.Many had speculated that ABC might choose a Sunday night time slot after Once Upon A Time, since preview footage of Agents Of SHIELD aired during the Once Upon A Time finale. However, a Sunday night time slot would have put the show up against The Walking Dead, which already draws a large viewership among comic book fans. A similar issue could have occurred if ABC had gone with a Thursday night time slot, as it would have put Agents Of SHIELD up against geek culture hit The Big Bang Theory. The Tuesday night time slot is actually a great choice for the show.It’s also interesting to note that ABC gave Agents Of SHIELD the 8 PM ET lead-in time shot. This early time slot indicates two things. One is that ABC must feel that Agents Of SHIELD will draw in family viewers, so they are airing the show early enough for kids to watch. And two is that ABC feels confident enough about the show that they are giving it an anchor spot, so that it can serve as a lead-in to other shows.
