He didn’t say much — there isn’t all that much to say — but he did sound more hopeful than he or co-star Keanu Reeves have in their last few interviews:
Movies take time to get off the ground. and BnT has always been an Indie franchise, and they take longer. But we are getting there 🙂
Previous interviews have indicated that the film would require a lot more time spent in the future than previous films, and that they anticipated a huge production budget, which has been a stumbling block for funding. Writer Ed Solomon has also been distracted working on the Spider-Man franchise for Sony.
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure came out in 1989 and spawned a sequel (Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey), an animated series and a comic book. It’s been largely dormant in the last 20 years in spite of a cult fan base that seems not to have seen much attrition in that time. A new comic book series from BOOM! Studios is launching in March.
