AMC, makers of The Walking Dead, have also come out against the Free Exercise Protection Act but haven’t gone all the way as to say they are boycotting the state. They issued the following statement (via THR).
“As a company, AMC Networks believes that discrimination of any kind is reprehensible. We applaud Governor Deal’s leadership in resisting a previous version of this divisive legislation and urge him to reject the current version as well.”
AMC was planning to return to Georgia for the filming of their upcoming seventh season in May, which is also the deadline for Governor Deal to either sign the bill into law or reject it. While they aren’t joining Disney and Marvel’s boycott if passed, they are calling for the bill to be rejected.
