“I think a lot of them are into rock/metal. I can’t say if they were excited to meet me, they did seem happy that I was there, and that I am a fan of what they are doing,” Ian told Radio.com of the cast and crew on The Walking Dead. “Everyone was really cool on set and they treated me great. And yes, there was music on in the trailer, but they are always talking about the makeup they are applying, communicating with the set via radio, there are hair-dryers making noise, so it the music was just background noise.”

In spite of a closed set with a lot of secrecy, Nerdist managed to swing not only getting Ian into a scene on The Walking Dead, but showing off his makeup (seen above).

You can check out the Bloodworks video below.

The Walking Dead is addicting because the writing is great,” Ian said. “The actors and directors and FX guys are all great as well, but it’s the story first and foremost. I don’t compare any of them. I just enjoy them all.”

At the time, Ian’s set video caused a minor stir in that it confirmed that Rick would be seen, alive, well and clean-shaven, in Season 5B. Prior to that, Lincoln’s decision to go clean-shaven had worried some fans who thought his character might die.

Bloodworks episodes are released via the Nerdist website. The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
