“Last night around 11:30 p.m., we got called to a nice family-owned hotel in town for a reported domestic disturbance,” Bob Jillson, Investigations Lieutenant at Saratoga Springs Police Department, told People. “We got to the room and we found a 33-year-old female there by herself, and she reported that she had been in a domestic incident with Nick, and he had subsequently left before we got there. She did not have any physical injuries that we were aware of.”
The altercation allegedly took place after Brendon’s girlfriend brought some of his possessions to the hotel. He then took her car keys and destroyed her cell phone in an attempt to force her to stay.
“He was placed under arrest without any incident,” says Jillson.
Brendon, 4, was charged with two counts of criminal mischief and one count of obstruction of breathing, all misdemeanors. He was also charge with a felony, robbery in the third degree, and spent the night in jail after his arrest.
Brendon has had a rough year, as he struggles with alcoholism and mental health issues. On Aug. 26, he appeared in a tense taped segment on Dr. Phil.
“My illnesses and addictions are a daily struggle for me, and I am committed to working on them for the rest of my life,” Brendon later wrote on Facebook. “A big part of that is focusing on positivity. I’m the first to admit I’ve messed up, a lot, and I’ve hurt people I care about and who care about me.”
Brendon is best remembered for his portrayal of Xander Harris through seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, from 1996-2003. He split with his wife, Moonda Tee, in February.
