PtoP Online, the YouTube channel dedicated to preserving video game history, has released some new gameplay footage from EA Chicago’s Marvel Comics fighting game, which was simply titled Marvel.
The game was still in the early stages of development when the studio was closed in 2007. The gameplay is pretty rough, so try to remember that it’s just a prototype while you’re watching the Hulk fight Captain America in the video below.

The game looked to have impressively wide open and destructible environments, which would have gone a long way in communicating the epic scale of a superhero battle. Unfortunately, it was never to be, and Marvel console video games have become practically extinct since then.
