Yeah, neither can we. But there has been 100 total issues of Carol Danvers solo stories since the character was introduced, and that’s enough for an anniversary special celebrating the character’s centennial mark in December, according to Comic Book Resources.

Coming up in Captain Marvel #10 (the title was relaunched after #17, making a total of 27 issues written by DeConnick), the Carol Corps (the title’s passionate fan base) will be treated to an oversized issue with a bunch of artists including David Lopez and Marcio Takara.

CBR was kind enough to do the math:

How did Carol get to this point? Twenty-three issues of the original “Ms. Marvel” series that started in 1977 + 50 issues of the subsequent “Ms. Marvel” run that started in 2006 + 17 issues of the “Captain Marvel” book that launched in 2012, the first featuring the character in her current superhero identity + 10 issues of the current, relaunched volume as of this December = 100 issues by the end of 2014. Cover and solicitation text for December’s “Captain Marvel” #10 follow.
