Back in 2015 there was a report that producer Adi Shankar (Dredd, Lone Survivor) was making a violent animated version of the classic video game seires Castlevania.

There hasn’t been much on the project – until today, as one of the rumored producers of the show has seemingly confirmed that it’s happening.
Adventure Time producer Fred Seibert was spotted making a possible Castlevania confirmation by IndieWire, who noticed Seibert’s appearance on the Nickelodeon Animation podcast, where he teased a project, “based on one of the most world-famous video games of the last 30 years. [W]e’ve had in our shop for 12 years without being able to get it started. But there were great characters and a great story, and eventually we got it going.”
Adi Shankar actually named Seibert as a person invovled in crafting the show, lending credit to the assumption that the project Seibert is teasing is indeed Castlevania:
We’re still curious what Shankar meant by “flipping the vamire sub-genre on its head,” but with one of the minds behind Aventure Time and Fairly OddParents on board, we know it can be done in the best way.
