The first actor that viewers can likely strike off the list is Claire Holt, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The site reported last night that Holt was one of the many actors testing for the titular role of Supergirl, but was not expected to get the part. It seems that the actress may not have time to play Supergirl, who is reported to be a major character in the show, anyway. As The Reporter notes, Holt will star as a series regular in NBC’s upcoming Charles Manson series, Aquarius.
New broke back in September that CBS was interested in creating a Supergirl television series, with No Ordinary Family’s Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler producing. The show would focus on a Kara Zor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian cousin, embracing her role as Earth’s protector in her mid-twenties. Warner Bros. has not indicated if Superman himself would be in the series, or have some type of tangential involvement.
