King will write the series, which will ship twice-monthly, with artists David Finch and Mikel Janin.

Calling Batman “our sign for justice in the DCU,” King said that it was daunting to follow Snyder and Capullo.

“To follow Scott and Greg, I feel like I’m coming up to bat after Babe Ruth and you just have to take that next pitch and hit it out, right?”

He said that he admired how Snyder “took Batman and made it personal — made it personal to him.”
