Director Dean Israelite has confirmed that audiences will want to stick around until after the credits when they see the Power Rangers movie. The film follows the popular blockbuster trend of having a teaser scene during the end credits roll.

“It was always gonna be a coda,” Israelite told Collider. “It was always gonna be sort of a post-credits scene. The only thing that we debated about that was where it comes two and a half minutes after the main one ends, or is it gonna come right at the end of the credits. So we decided to kind of break the credits up.”
What may be more exciting than that is what an end-credits scene means. These tags are usually used by studios to set up what’s next for a franchise. If there’s one included with Power Rangers then that likely means Lionsgate is already considering a sequel.
And why not? As a franchise, the Power Rangers have over 20 seasons of mythology and material to draw from. The reboot film’s Rita Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks, is said to be a former Green Ranger gone rogue, suggesting that, if Rita is defeated, another character could be introduced as a new Green Ranger in a sequel. Rita is also said to be working for Lord Zed, who could easily be set up as the villain of a second Power Rangers movie.
