Just in time for tomorrow’s release of Officer Downe — the feature film adaptation of Joe Casey and Chris Burnham’s Image comic book series of the same name — the first (and super-violent) clip has been released.

It features Officer Terrence Downe (portrayed by Sons Of Anarchy‘s Kim Coates) — a Los Angeles super-cop who is resurrected time and time again after repeatedly giving his life in the line of duty — taking on a group of bizarre criminals that dress-up like nuns.
Adapted from the 2010 graphic novel by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, Officer Downe concocts a hyper-real Los Angeles for the story of a savage LA policeman who is repeatedly resurrected and returned to active duty via dark science technology. When a rookie officer named Gable is recruited as back up, he discovers there’s much more to the titular super-cop than a mindless law enforcement drone warring against a twisted rouges gallery of over-the-top super-villains.
The film stars Kim Coates as Officer Downe, Sam Witwer as Burnham, Lauren Luna-Velez as Police Chief Berringer, Lindsay Pulsipher as Miss Tiger, Ren Wilson as Officer Carter, Mark Neveldine as Hazmat Johnny, Tyler Ross as Officer Gable, Meadow Williams as Mother Supreme, Tracy Vilar as Officer Hanso, Erica Lynne Arden as Telekinetic Girl, and Shad Gaspard as Brick.
It was directed by Slipknot’s M Shawn Crahan and written by co-creator Joe Casey.
