Deadline is reporting, Frank Whaley has been cast in Netflix’s Luke Cage.

He’ll play hard-nosed Detective Scarfe. For comic book readers, you know him as Rafael “Rafe” Scarfe, the ex-partner and close friend of Misty Knight. She later introduced Rafe to Luke Cage and Iron Fist, and they all became friends as well. Scarfe was their contact on the police force that they knew they could trust and they would often send him the criminals they captured.
Whaley, 52, a long and successful career as a character actor in popular television and mainstream films as well as starring in numerous independent films. He is perhaps best known for his roles in Field of Dreams, Pulp Fiction, and JFK. More recently, you may have seen Whaley guest starring in Gotham, Ray Donovan and/or The Blacklist.
Luke Cage is filming inNYC now, for a likely 2016 release. The cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Alfre Woodard as Minetta, Theo Rossi as Shades Alvarez, Frank Whaley as Det. Scarfe, Simone Missick as Misty Knight and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.
