Even though Clooney is one of Hollywood’s most respected actors, comic book fans will always remember him as Batman in 1997’s Batman & Robin. As the actor unfortunate enough to don the silver Bat-Nipples in the reviled film, Clooney did an admirable job at making Batman work in Joel Schumacher’s neon-infested world.
Thankfully, Clooney was able to move past Batman & Robin and stage one of the most successful careers in Hollywood. Starring in the Ocean’s Eleven franchise, Syriana, Monuments Men, and several other classics, Clooney is a highly sought-after talent. His next film sees a slight return to the sci-fi genre with Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, which hits on May 22.
Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Clooney turns 54 today. Happy Birthday, George Clooney.
