Merchandise based off of the creative team’s award-winning run on the character has generated more than $2,000, all of which will be donated to the domestic violence organization Futures Without Violence. Fraction’s wife, and fellow comics writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, made the announcement yesterday on her Twitter page, thanking patrons for their support. The merchandise, ranging from Hawkeye apparel to messenger bags, is currently available on WeLoveFine.
The Hawkeye products are advertised with a promise from Fraction that his portion of the merchandise’s profits would go to multiple charities. Depending on what style t-shirt shoppers purchase, Fraction will donate his cut to the Signing Time Foundation, a foundation for teaching children sign language, or Futures Without Violence, an organization dedicated to ending violence against women and children. Fraction has been selling the Hawkeye merchandise since May 2013.
