Now that Marvel and Sony are rebooting Spider-Man once again, is Hutcherson still interested in the role? “Yeah, of course I’d think about doing it: It’s Spider-Man, that’d be really cool,” Hutcherson told Yahoo Movies. “There’s not been any conversations about that, but who knows what would happen?”
In 2010, Hutcherson was on Sony’s short list for Spider-Man along with Jamie Bell, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane, Ose Hayble and Andrew Garfield. The role eventually went to Garfield. During the audition period Hutcherson put together an action-packed screen test, which later leaked online. Check it out below.
The new Spider-Man is expected to make a cameo in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and will star in his own solo franchise in 2017.
